A set of pictures of 3 days spent in Algarve. I will upload about 100-150 pictures in total in the next few days.

Detail of the old chair, paint removed. This chair used to be in the home my dad lived when he was a child. Now the chair was covered in light colored paint that was peeling off.
This is my first attempt in old furniture restoring.
I love the way the old dark paint looks below, so it will be no paint on top of it now. More pictures of the chair in the set

Needed indeed, originally uploaded by uninorth13.

4th July. A day for the BBQ.
Not a day for the rain and autumn floods, ideally...
But it has been raining and raining for the past 24 hours, with water on the streets downtown, and no end (raining 2.30AM still) photoset

Flower man, originally uploaded by uninorth13.

There were hundreds of people selling daffodils in Dublin on the daffodil day for cancer research and awareness, but none of them looked as cool as this guy.

14th-Nov-2007 09:46 pm - Fire close to Infirmary Road # 1
artsy

Yesterday there was a lot of smoke, and a number or firefighters and garda cars next to South Infirmary hospital in Cork. I had only my camera phone with me, and was too tired and sick to figure what all it was about, but there were 20-30 curious people following the situation closely.

28th-Oct-2007 09:29 pm - Sunset reflections on River Lee
artsy

Sunset, originally uploaded by uninorth13.

Sunset...
When I get to work, it's before sunrise, and this is when I get back home. As today the time was switched to winter time, it will be home after sunset...
I don't really like winters, as I sleep like a bear. My brain needs more sunlight to function - the fake lights don't do it, it is only registering to my brain as being in a pharmacy.

Rose, originally uploaded by uninorth13.

I walked downtown looking for a house on a side street that would have fields both sides of it. I missed that road and that house but at least there were other beautiful things on the road.

I so can't wait to get a new camera. Should have it in about a month.

23rd-Sep-2007 06:21 pm - Saturday, 8 AM, a weird fog out

Foggy day out, originally uploaded by uninorth13.

I woke up 8 AM yesterday. It was foggy and sunny - the fog covered the downtown, it looked like someone had covered the whole downtown in cotton candy.

A pub in Ireland, originally uploaded by uninorth13.

Our receptionist, Michael, went back to college in Swansea, so we went to have a pint for him.
It's odd how sometimes the pictures that go just wrong can become what you feel basically without editing.

19th-Aug-2007 05:51 pm - Apple Pro keyboard Earring holder
artsy

Very long time since I've added anything here....
I used the sheet of metal that was left from the Apple Pro keyboard for making an earring holder. (Also made wallet out of it, in previous posts.)
Excluding the time to actually take apart the keyboard, it would take about 5 minutes to figure out how to make one, or even less.
I originally planned on painting it, but the aluminium color looks techie itself. Maybe later.
Broken things can be useful and creative. A keyboard that is not working itself, turned to a nice wallet and a display for the earrings and jewelry. The white keys will be removed the lettering so I can make a daskeyboard type keyboard with them on a working Apple pro keyboard, and the white things behind the keys will also find some use. Something flowery perhaps...

10th-Jun-2007 08:45 pm - Apple blanket finished
artsy

Apple blanket finished, originally uploaded by uninorth13.

I finally finished the apple blanket.
This is how it looks. It's got 8 x 12 pieces of t-shirt parts. In total about 25-30 apple t-shirts that were that old that they could not have been worn any more were put into it. In an old entry there are more details of it [linky]

10th-Jun-2007 08:37 pm - Wallet made out of Apple Pro keyboard
artsy

I spilled some liquid on my Apple Pro keyboard so the asdfghjkl;'\ row wasn't working anymore. As it is a membrane keyboard, I tried to save the memories of it (after all, this particular keyboard had good memories). So I saw in instructables how to make a wallet out of a keyboard, and here is how it looks. The keys of the keyboard will have the lettering removed, so that I can make my own daskeyboard for it.
